As students create more and more digital media they cannot pop it into their backpacks, ... or can they? Cloud computing is now the virtual backpack and a necessary item for the modern student. There are several options for storing your work and students work online. Some of those I recommend are below:
Google Drive
Google Drive is Internet-based and is one of the most popular online storage options available and works best if using Google Apps, Google Classroom and anything Google, as they seamlessly integrate the functionality of all Google features. Google Drive also works with Edmodo, schoolloop and several other applications, so work can be integrated into many apps you use in Digital Media. A great feature is that you can use Google Drive in their Classroom Learning Management System known as Classroom Google.
Microsoft OneDrive
Microsoft's competing Cloud service, which is part of their new cloud-based service. Most schools have free accounts, so check with your IT Department or website before downloading this to your computer. One drive allows you to download or upload your files so they are available anywhere. Similar to Google Drive it seamlessly integrates into Microsoft products.Dropbox
This option allows you to drop your files into a Dropbox icon directly on your desktop. My experience with this is that the Free version has limited size and you can run out quickly. You can also share with fellow colleagues or students using this option as well. 2 GB free and 100GB for $9.99/month.Just Cloud
A professional use site that enables users to back up and store files into the Cloud. This service is Free; however, I've not used it and found several negative complaints about the service. Look into this and research before you make this choice. Free mobile apps and unlimited storage.iCloud
An Apple product that allows you to access all of your content on your phone, tablet, computer from anywhere any time. You will have to purchase additional GB storage; however, this is seamlessly reliable and syncs automatically if you set up your devices this way. Storage plans vary per needs.
Box -
Box provides 10 GB of free storage for personal use. With a personal
account you can only upload files smaller than 250 MB to the cloud which is a major
inconvenience if you are looking to store movies or large files.

Copy: Copy provides 15 GB of free cloud storage
and you can get a whopping 5 GB free space for every friend you refer. There is
no upper limit to the free storage you can get and sky is the limit.
Bitcasa: Bitcasa places emphasis on the privacy of your data. All data is encrypted and it provides 20 GB of free cloud storage and you can access your data from 3 different devices.
